President Zelensky said in a video speech that day, "Five Russian missiles flew in right after the meeting with Secretary-General Guterres in Kyiv," criticizing it as "the attitude of the Russian leadership trying to insult the UN."
According to major foreign media, the bombing occurred less than an hour after the press conference between Secretary-General Guterres and President Zelensky ended, killing at least one person. Several others were injured, including people trapped under two buildings collapsed by the airstrike.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal also tweeted that day, "I heard explosions during the meeting with Secretary-General Guterres in Kyiv," and stated, "Russia has launched missile attacks on Kyiv."
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba pointed out, "Through this heinous atrocity, Russia once again showed its attitude toward Ukraine, Europe, and the entire world."

Secretary-General Guterres is reported to be safe. The UN Secretary-General's office said, "We are shocked by Russia's airstrike that occurred during the visit to Kyiv," adding, "Everyone is safe."
