Daegu City to Begin Construction of Long-Unexecuted Gusu-san Park in May ... Scheduled for Completion in May 2024
The First Case of Private Park Development Special Project Groundbreaking Ceremony
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Daegu City will carry out the construction of Gusu-san Park in Buk-gu, which has been long delayed, for two years from May 2022 to May 2024.
Since it was designated as a park in 1999, the park has not been developed for a long time, and despite its excellent natural environment and accessibility to Dongcheon Station on Metro Line 3 and Chilgok IC, it has not properly fulfilled its role as an urban park.
The park construction project, starting this time, aims not only to become a new representative space in the Buk-gu area but also to transform into a user-centered park with facilities and scenic views by May 2024.
The city has completed land acquisition of 135,242㎡ excluding already developed park facilities, conducted cultural heritage trial excavations, obtained design approval, and plans to start the park construction with a budget of 12 billion KRW in mid-May.
The project will be carried out by Gusu-san Private Park PFV, a special purpose corporation formed as a consortium of Hwaseong Development, Guil Industrial Development, and Daegu Bank, as the project executor.
Gusu-san Park plans to include an entrance plaza, reading forest, multipurpose lawn plaza, sports yard, forest playground, Palgeo Stream, and an observatory overlooking the Chilgok district.
