Gwangju Education Superintendent Candidate Park Hyeja: "Create 'Education Special Zones' for Each District"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Following the relocation of Gwangsan-gu by the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education, Park Hye-ja, a preliminary candidate for Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Superintendent, will implement educational special zone projects for each autonomous district.
On the 28th, Park Hye-ja, a preliminary candidate for Gwangju Superintendent of Education, stated, “Along with the relocation of Gwangsan-gu by the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education, we will establish an educational environment that reflects the characteristics of the Gwangju region,” and “We will achieve educational balance tailored to the characteristics of each autonomous district.”
To this end, ▲Dong-gu will be designated as a ‘Culture and Arts Education Special Zone,’ ▲Seo-gu as an ‘Advanced Education Special Zone,’ ▲Nam-gu as a ‘Student Education Special Zone,’ ▲Buk-gu as a ‘Future Education Special Zone,’ and ▲Gwangsan-gu as an ‘Educational Administration Special Zone.’
As specialized projects for each autonomous district, Dong-gu will provide culture and arts specialized education considering the Asia Culture Center and Art Street, while Seo-gu will establish an AI gifted school to conduct AI specialized education.
Nam-gu will establish a Career and Academic Advancement Promotion Center that supports career and academic counseling at the highest level to meet educational demands. Buk-gu will lead Gwangju’s future education by establishing a Future Education Center suitable for the Future Education Special Zone. Gwangsan-gu, as an Educational Administration Special Zone, will relocate the current Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education in Hwajeong-dong to Gwangsan-gu to create a smooth educational environment.
