"Growing Future Technology Startups" Mercedes-Benz Korea Accepting Applications Until the 6th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Mercedes-Benz Korea is recruiting early-stage startups to participate in the 'Startup Autobahn Korea' until the 6th of next month. This is a startup nurturing platform by Mercedes-Benz Group AG, and this is the third time it has been held, expanding its fields and scale.
This event is held in collaboration with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Seoul Startup Hub, and N15. Hanwha Systems, which operates satellite technology business, has newly joined as a partner company this year. The number of startups to work with major domestic institutions and companies has been increased to up to 15. Launched in 2016 to discover and support promising startups, this platform provides expert mentoring, networking opportunities, investment attraction, development space, and equipment support.
It first started in Germany, where the headquarters are located, followed by the United States, China, India, and in 2020, Korea became the seventh country to start. Over 380 startups worldwide have participated in projects, collaborating with more than 280 startups. In Korea, 16 startups have participated and conducted projects so far.
The final selection of startups will be held in June at the 'Selection Day,' a project pitching and networking event where partner companies are assigned to each startup. From July, for about 100 days, startups will receive regular mentoring from industry experts and engineers, undergo various technical support and nurturing programs to verify technology. At the final pitching event (Expo Day) held in December, startups will share their development achievements over 100 days and seek investment opportunities through partner companies and venture capital.
