Samsung Seoul Hospital IT Infrastructure Receives World's First 'Top Level' Certification in the US
Achieved Stage 7 of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) in the United States
Samsung Seoul Hospital is carrying out more than 20 innovative projects to realize an 'advanced intelligent hospital' focused on severe and complex diseases.
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Samsung Medical Center announced on the 28th that it has become the first in the world to receive the highest level 7 certification in IT infrastructure (HIMSS INFRAM) from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) in the United States.
HIMSS is regarded as the most reputable certification body worldwide that evaluates the informatization level of medical institutions with the goal of improving the quality of healthcare and patient safety. The IT infrastructure category, in which Samsung Medical Center obtained the highest rating this time, evaluates the technology and functions necessary for medical institutions to achieve their medical infrastructure goals on a scale from 0 to 7. The higher the number, the more advanced the required IT infrastructure.
To realize an advanced intelligent hospital, Samsung Medical Center showcased world-class services in this field based on the technology and experience accumulated through more than 20 innovative projects. Among the services highly evaluated in this certification were the 'Visible ARS' that enhances convenience for patients in making and changing appointments, the 'Mobile Admission Service' that significantly reduces hospital admission procedures, the QR-based 'Care Journey Guidance Service' that sends notification messages about today's appointment schedule and order upon passing through the hospital speed gate, the 'Mobile Questionnaire' where patients complete pre-visit questionnaires via mobile and the data is transmitted to the hospital information system for use in treatment, the 'Electronic Bedside Card' that displays real-time information of inpatients for clinical use, and the 'Mobile Asset Location Management' which efficiently manages the real-time location of mobile medical devices such as infusion pumps.
