President-elect Yoon: "President Biden's Visit to Korea is a Great Opportunity to Comprehensively Strengthen the ROK-US Alliance"
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol stated on the 27th that the upcoming visit of U.S. President Joe Biden next month is "a good opportunity for the Korea-U.S. alliance to be strengthened more comprehensively."
On the afternoon of the same day, Yoon made these remarks during a meeting with Edwin Feulner, founder of the American think tank Heritage Foundation, at the transition office in Tongui-dong. This is the first time President Yoon has publicly commented on President Biden's visit to Korea.
Founder Feulner mentioned, "President Biden is about to embark on his first Asia tour, and it is very significant that his first stop is Korea." He introduced that this year marks the 140th anniversary of Korea-U.S. diplomatic relations and said, "It is meaningful that the U.S. President recognizes this and comes to Korea."
President Biden is reviewing a schedule to visit Korea on the 20th of next month and hold his first summit with President-elect Yoon around the 21st.

Regarding the Heritage Foundation, President-elect Yoon also said, "Regardless of conservative or progressive camps, many talented individuals conduct research at the think tank, enter the government, and then return, creating a circulation that greatly advances U.S. politics and serves as a good example for benchmarking worldwide." He added, "Looking at their ideas and policies, the think tank provides very deep research results and reasonable measures, which I believe have contributed to positive outcomes in Korea-U.S. relations."
