Hayounggu Appointed Chairman of Blackstone Korea and Chief Advisor for Korea
[Asia Economy Reporter So-yeon Park] Blackstone, the world's largest private equity firm, announced on the 27th that Ha Young-gu, Korea's Chief Advisor, will serve as the Chairman of its Korean subsidiary.
Chairman Ha joined Blackstone as an advisor in August last year. Previously, he served as Chairman and CEO of Citigroup Korea and Chairman of the Korea Federation of Banks.
Chairman Ha will oversee Blackstone's Korean operations alongside Kook Yoo-jin, Head of the PE division, who has been leading Blackstone's Korean PE business.
Blackstone also announced the establishment of a new real estate team in Korea and the recruitment of Chris Kim (Kim Tae-rae) as Head of the Real Estate division.
Chris Kim previously served as Co-Head of the Korea Real Estate division at Angelo Gordon, a real estate investment firm.
