French Actor Baengsang Laengdong, President of the Jury at the 75th Cannes Film Festival

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] French actor Vincent Lindon (62), who starred in last year's Palme d'Or-winning film "Titane," will serve as the jury president at this year's Cannes Film Festival.
On the 26th (local time), the Secretariat of the 75th Cannes International Film Festival announced this and revealed the nine-member jury panel composed of four women and five men.
The jury members include British actress Rebecca Hall, Indian actress Deepika Padukone, Swedish actress Noomi Rapace, Italian actress and director Jasmine Trinca, Iranian director Asghar Farhadi, French director and actor Red Li, American director Jeff Nichols, and Norwegian director Joachim Trier.
Vincent Lindon said, "I am honored and deeply proud to take on the great and weighty responsibility of serving as the jury president of the 75th Cannes International Film Festival amid a tumultuous world," adding, "I will do my best to move forward through films that embrace courage and freedom. Culture helps us stand up and move toward tomorrow."
At the 72nd Cannes Film Festival in 2019, Song Kang-ho, the lead actor of "Parasite" (director Bong Joon-ho), which won the Palme d'Or, served as a jury member at the 74th festival held offline last year. Vincent Lindon, the lead actor of last year's Palme d'Or-winning film "Titane," will lead the jury this year. It is the first time in 13 years since French actress Isabelle Huppert served as jury president in 2009.

This year, "Broker" (director Koreeda Hirokazu) and "Decision to Leave" (director Park Chan-wook) have entered the competition section of the 75th Cannes Film Festival, which will be held from May 17 to 28 in the southern French city of Cannes.
