Gwangyang-si to Provide Enrollment Celebration Money for 1st Grade Elementary School Students

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do announced that it will provide entrance celebration money to first-grade elementary school students for the 2022 academic year.
The city enacted the "Gwangyang City Elementary School Entrance Celebration Money Payment Ordinance" in 2021 to reduce the educational expenses burden on parents for preparing learning materials and to realize a city favorable for child-rearing, and will start providing entrance celebration money from this year.
The support target is first-grade elementary school students residing in Gwangyang City from the date of admission to the application date, and 100,000 KRW (Gwangyang Love Gift Certificate) will be provided per student.
Applications can be made by visiting the local eup/myeon/dong office in charge of the address from May 2 to 31, and those who do not apply within the period can apply at the City Hall Education and Childcare Division (5 Haengjeong 2-gil, Gwangyang-si, Jeollanam-do, 4th floor of the Council Building) until November 30.
Ryu Hyun-cheol, head of the Education and Childcare Division, said, "Through the payment of entrance celebration money containing congratulations to families with students entering school for the first time, we hope to ease the educational expenses burden on parents even a little, and expect that providing Gwangyang Love Gift Certificates will help revitalize the local economy."
