The standard clinical practice guidelines for Korean medicine are technical documents developed by comprehensively integrating clinical, academic, and theoretical aspects based on the theories and knowledge of Korean medicine. They are designed to provide standardized information for Korean medical services based on evidence.
The development of these clinical guidelines is part of the Korean Medicine Innovation Technology Development Project, which is a follow-up to the Ministry of Health and Welfare's Leading Technology Development Project for Korean Medicine. Over the course of ten years, this project aims to support the development of more than 50 new clinical guidelines and the revision of existing guidelines to reflect the latest knowledge.
The first three guidelines have now been developed and certified, and have been published as books to promote their distribution and adoption.
Since April 25, the standard clinical practice guidelines for Korean medicine have been available for free through a special event.
Anyone interested in Korean medicine can participate. The event is limited to 200 copies and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis through online channels such as the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development, the Association of Korean Medicine, the National Korean Medicine Clinical Information Portal, and the portal's official social media accounts.
Park Minjeong, Head of the Korean Medicine Innovation Technology Development Division, said, "We have made great efforts to enhance the credibility of Korean medicine, improve the quality of medical services, and comprehensively address diagnostic and therapeutic tools for Korean medicine that are actually used in clinical practice."
