Suwon-si Excels in Public Data Management... Selected as an Excellent Institution for 3 Consecutive Years Since 2019
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province has been selected as an "Excellent Institution" in the "2021 Public Data Provision Operation Status Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, receiving a financial incentive of 40 million KRW.
With this, Suwon City has achieved the distinction of being selected as an excellent institution for three consecutive years since the 2019 evaluation.
Since 2018, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety has annually evaluated 548 institutions nationwide, including central administrative agencies, local governments, and public institutions, on the establishment and status of public data provision infrastructure, selecting excellent institutions.
In this evaluation, Suwon City received a total score of 95.84 points, including ▲Management System 7.6 points (out of 8) ▲Openness 43.93 points (out of 44) ▲Utilization 13 points (out of 13) ▲Quality 28.41 points (out of 35) ▲Others 2.9 points (out of 3). This score is 37.15 points higher than the average of 58.69 points for basic local governments.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety will provide Suwon City with a financial incentive (special grant) of 40 million KRW next month.
Suwon City operates a "Big Data Portal," analyzing and visualizing various public data within the region and providing this information to citizens, thereby promoting data-driven administration.
