"When Compliance Conflicts Arise" ... Jinju City Conducts Anti-Corruption Integrity Training for Grade 6 Public Officials
Education on Various Cases Including Conflict of Interest Prevention Act and Public Finance Recovery Act
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, conducted a public official integrity training on the 25th to promote fair job performance and foster a sound public service culture.
This training was conducted in two sessions targeting Grade 6 public officials. Min Su-jin, a professional instructor from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission Integrity Training Institute, was invited to focus on laws and systems related to anti-corruption and integrity.
The training included education on the ten standards of conduct stipulated in the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act for public officials, which is set to be enforced on May 19. Various case studies were used to enhance officials' understanding and help them quickly adapt to changes in laws and systems.
Additionally, the training broadened understanding of laws and systems necessary for job performance, such as the Public Interest Whistleblower Protection Act and the Public Finance Recovery Act.
A city official stated, “We will continue to create various educational opportunities to improve the integrity awareness of the public service to meet citizens’ expectations and build an honest organizational culture.”
Jinju City completed integrity training for employees at Grade 6 and above in the first half of this year and plans to continue training for employees at Grade 7 and below in the second half.

Furthermore, to ensure the stable enforcement of the Conflict of Interest Prevention Act, the city will establish operational guidelines and designate a Conflict of Interest Prevention Officer.
