Police Transfer Lawmaker Choi Kang-wook's Case to Yongin Dongbu Police Station in 'Lee Dong-jae Defamation Lawsuit' Incident
Transfer to the jurisdiction of the defendant's residence with significant involvement
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The case in which former Channel A reporter Dongjae Lee filed a complaint for spreading false information against Choi Kang-wook, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Hwang Hee-seok, former Supreme Council member of the Open Democratic Party, has been transferred to the Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency.
On the 25th, the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul announced that considering the residence of Representative Choi, the case was transferred to the Yongin Dongbu Police Station under the Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency on the 19th.
Lee’s side submitted a complaint to the police, claiming that Representative Choi and former Supreme Council member Hwang spread false information through appearances on YouTube and radio, and it was confirmed that the complainant investigation was completed on the 5th. Representative Choi is currently undergoing a first trial for spreading false information after posting on social media (SNS) in April 2020 about Lee’s alleged threats.
