"11 Bottles per Second" HiteJinro Sells 1 Billion Bottles of 'Jinro' in 3 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] HiteJinro announced on the 25th that the cumulative sales of the Ddukkeobi soju 'Jinro', which celebrated its 3rd anniversary, have exceeded 1 billion bottles.
Despite the economic downturn caused by COVID-19, Jinro's sales increased by about 5% last year compared to the previous year. Sales of home-use products such as pack soju and PET soju increased by about 37%, driving sales. Pack soju and PET soju targeting home drinkers accounted for about 17% of total household sales. Jinro's sales in the first quarter of this year also increased by about 8% compared to the same period last year. Sales of products for entertainment use increased by about 10%.
HiteJinro plans to continue the sales growth this year through marketing activities that allow consumers to experience the Jinro brand in daily life. Last year, HiteJinro collaborated with different industries to release more than 80 types of Ddukkeobi character products. This year, they will expand consumer touchpoints through various collaborations. Currently, they are conducting funding for 8 Ddukkeobi character idea products on the domestic social funding platform Wadiz. The cumulative amount raised has exceeded 500 million KRW.
The nationwide tour of the liquor character shop Ddukkeobsanghoe will also continue. The 11th Ddukkeobsanghoe is currently operating in Busan. So far, the cumulative number of visitors to Ddukkeobsanghoe nationwide has exceeded 180,000.
