Supply of 25,782 Households in May... Largest Volume in the First Half of the Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] The supply of apartment move-ins in May is expected to increase by about 80% compared to April. This is the largest monthly supply in the first half of the year. Notably, 60% of this supply is concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area.
According to Zigbang on the 25th, the number of apartment move-ins in May is 25,782 households, which is 79% more than the 14,425 households moving in this month. The increase in supply in the metropolitan area is particularly prominent. In the metropolitan area, concentrated in Gyeonggi and Incheon, 15,335 households will move in, more than three times the amount supplied in the previous month. In the provinces, 10,447 households will move in, starting to occupy new apartments about 8% more than the previous month.
By city and province, Incheon (7,659 households) has the largest supply. The largest complex in Incheon, The Sharp Bupyeong Central City (5,678 households), is moving in, contributing to the increase in May's move-in supply. Following that are Gyeonggi (7,473 households), Busan (2,838 households), and Daegu (1,704 households) in order of move-in volume.
In May, a total of 31 complexes nationwide are scheduled for move-in. In the metropolitan area, 14 complexes will move in: 1 in Seoul, 9 in Gyeonggi, and 4 in Incheon. In the provinces, there are 17 complexes in total, including 6 in Busan, 3 in Daegu, and 2 in Gwangju. A Zigbang official said, "With the rapid rise in raw material prices, there is a possibility of delays in new apartment construction, increasing uncertainty about the timing of future new apartment move-ins," adding, "Because the cost of sale prices may rise due to increased construction costs, the sale schedule may also be postponed."
