According to CNBC on the 22nd local time, online payment service startup Stripe announced that it has decided to allow companies and businesses to pay users in cryptocurrency, and this will also be introduced on Twitter.
The cryptocurrency to be used is USD Coin (USDC), one of the stablecoins (coins pegged to the value of fiat currencies such as the dollar or euro).
Starting today, Twitter has enabled creators to receive income in USDC from Twitter's paid services, 'Ticket Spaces' (a feature where users can meet in virtual rooms and have real-time voice conversations) and 'Super Follows' (a subscription-based paid content service operated by creators with over 10,000 followers).
Regarding this, CNBC explained that it is "another sign that major financial companies are beginning to take an interest in digital assets."
