CJ CheilJedang Launches Eco-Friendly Campaign... Collecting Hetbahn Containers to Make Humidifiers
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] CJ CheilJedang announced on the 22nd that it will conduct employee volunteer activities to create eco-friendly humidifiers using Hetbahn containers directly returned by customers.
Since January, CJ CheilJedang has been running the "Our Containers for the Earth" campaign through its online store CJ The Market, collecting used Hetbahn containers directly from consumers. The eco-friendly humidifiers made by employees use a natural humidification method that provides a healthy and safe indoor environment without electromagnetic waves. The humidifiers are easy to make using the main body made from recycled plastic material processed from separated and cleaned collected Hetbahn containers and nonwoven fabric. To encourage employee participation in volunteer activities, the company plans to provide eco-friendly humidifier production kits.
The "Our Containers for the Earth" campaign operates by purchasing a special set containing Hetbahn and a collection box, then returning more than 20 used Hetbahn containers in the box, which are collected via courier service. Participants simply scan the QR code on the collection box to apply and leave it at their doorstep. Each time containers are collected, participants receive 1,000 CJ ONE points. The collected Hetbahn containers are repurposed into trays for holiday gift sets. Once a sufficient amount is collected, the project will expand to include eco-friendly logistics pallets in collaboration with CJ Logistics.
To support this, on the 18th, CJ CheilJedang signed a business agreement at the CJ CheilJedang Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, titled "Hetbahn Container Collection and Upcycling for Plastic Resource Circulation and Job Creation/Sharing Culture Activation for Vulnerable Groups."
