FSS Investigates Circumstances of Personal Data Leak at Samsung Securities and Kookmin Card
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Hwajeong] The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) has begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the personal information leakage incidents at Samsung Securities and KB Kookmin Card.
On the 21st, the FSS announced that it will ascertain the cause of the personal information leakage incidents at Samsung Securities and KB Kookmin Card, promptly ensure compensation if consumer damage has occurred, and guide immediate improvements to related systems to prevent recurrence.
The FSS stated, "We will strengthen inspections on compliance with program testing and third-party verification procedures for mobile-based financial platforms," adding, "If serious legal violations are confirmed, strict accountability will be enforced according to laws and principles."
Earlier, in the integrated app 'MoniMo' of Samsung financial companies, account numbers, balances, and yield rates of 344 users who selected Samsung Securities services were exposed.
