Curatis Holds Meeting with Indonesian Minister of Health... Discusses Next-Generation COVID Vaccine Collaboration
Exchange of Opinions on Local Clinical Trials and Regulatory Approval for 'QTP104'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Curatis announced on the 21st that it visited Indonesia and met with the local Ministry of Health's minister and vice minister to discuss cooperation plans for clinical trials of its next-generation mRNA COVID-19 vaccine 'QTP104' in Indonesia.
Curatis explained that through this meeting, they discussed matters related to local clinical trials and regulatory approval of QTP104 in Indonesia, as well as future cooperation plans.
The QTP104 COVID-19 vaccine is the first next-generation mRNA vaccine (self-replicating, self-amplifying mRNA or replicon RNA) developed domestically, having received approval for phase 1 clinical trial plans from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in July last year. Compared to existing mRNA vaccines, it can induce a strong immune response with a smaller dose, and notably, it does not contain PEG components, resulting in almost no allergic reactions, which draws attention for its safety.
Curatis stated that the phase 1 clinical trial for the primary vaccination is progressing smoothly in cooperation with domestic health authorities such as the Pan-Government Support Committee, Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. Earlier in February, Curatis also applied to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for a booster shot clinical trial plan.
Additionally, Curatis Bio Research Institute is continuing non-clinical trials to verify neutralizing antibody formation and T cell immune activation against new variants such as Omicron, in response to ongoing concerns about variant viruses.
