The Buchae-pyo Gasong Foundation was established in April 2008 with the philosophy that "corporate profits should be returned to society," funded by the late Honorary Chairman Yoon Gwang-yeol of Dongwha Pharm and his wife Kim Soon-nyeo. The foundation supports academic research projects through awards such as the Yoon Gwang-yeol Dental Medical Volunteer Award, the Yoon Gwang-yeol Medical Award (jointly established with the Korean Medical Association in 2009), the Medical Contribution Award (jointly operated with the Korean Medical Association since 2017), the Yoon Gwang-yeol Pharmaceutical Award (jointly established with the Korean Pharmaceutical Association in 2008), and the Yoon Gwang-yeol Pharmaceutical Contribution Award (jointly established with the Korean Pharmaceutical Association in 2019). It has also selected talented university students with excellent academic performance but financial difficulties and provided scholarships to support them.
