Seongae Hospital Opens 'Post-COVID Sequelae Clinic'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Seongae Hospital and Gwangmyeong Seongae Hospital announced on the 20th that they are preparing to open a 'Post-COVID Syndrome Clinic' for patients suffering from aftereffects of COVID-19.
As the number of patients complaining of 'Long COVID' syndrome, which persists even after being diagnosed with COVID-19 and released from quarantine, increases, Seongae Hospital plans to provide treatment through multidisciplinary collaboration with various medical staff including the departments of respiratory and allergy medicine, pediatrics, neurology, and otolaryngology.
Seongae Hospital, which operates an outpatient face-to-face COVID-19 treatment center, will help patients experiencing aftereffects recover stably based on its experience treating confirmed COVID-19 patients. Additionally, the regional emergency medical center has established a cohort isolation zone to provide 24-hour treatment for confirmed COVID-19 patients, making it available even in emergency situations.
Shim Sang-jun, director of Seongae Hospital, said, “It has become difficult to find someone who has not contracted COVID-19 due to the explosive increase in confirmed cases, and many patients suffering from various aftereffects were unsure where to receive treatment. We will open a dedicated clinic to help local residents easily and comfortably receive treatment and restore their daily lives.”
