Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station Conducts Comprehensive Inspection of Mountain Location Signboards and More
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the 20th, the Northern Fire Station of Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it conducted a comprehensive inspection of the 119 Simple Rescue First Aid Boxes and mountain location signboards installed on major hiking trails to ensure the safety of spring hikers.
Currently, within Buk-gu, there are 119 Simple Rescue First Aid Boxes installed at four locations: Samgaksan, Unamsan, Maegoksan, and Hansae-bong, and mountain location signboards are installed at five locations on Samgaksan.
This inspection was carried out to promote the safety of hikers during the period of increased outdoor activities by checking emergency medical supplies in the 119 Simple Rescue First Aid Boxes, replenishing missing items, inspecting their appearance, and verifying the management status of the mountain location signboards.
The 119 Simple Rescue First Aid Boxes are equipped with basic emergency medical supplies such as disposable bandages, gauze, and disinfectants that can be used for emergency treatment of minor injuries like abrasions during hiking. In case of an emergency, anyone can use the box by calling 119 and receiving the password for the box.
Additionally, the mountain location signboards are installed at key points along hiking trails with unique identification numbers, allowing for quick identification of the location of a person in distress during mountain accidents, thereby aiding efficient rescue operations.
