Gyeongbuk Province Prepares New Crisis Response Manuals for Each Type of Social Disaster
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Dong-guk] Gyeongbuk Province has prepared a 'Social Disaster Crisis Response Manual' and produced it as a booklet to enable rapid response and early recovery from social disasters, whose types are diverse and occurrence is difficult to predict.
The newly published manual was prepared to resolve difficulties such as understanding the work of related practitioners and applying it on-site during situations, as the existing on-site action manual containing necessary action procedures at disaster sites was complex and extensive.
The manual compiles in one volume the crisis alert levels by type, the organizational system of the Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, key tasks by working groups, major action items, and related regulations to make it easier to understand response and recovery tasks for 30 types of social disasters, including wildfires.
Above all, it newly includes major action items such as emergency measures, relief matters, damage recovery, and restoration for each type of social disaster, which were not included in the existing on-site action manual.
Through this, it aims to enhance the understanding of public officials unfamiliar with related tasks and enable systematic and prompt response and recovery in the event of disasters such as the recent Uljin wildfire.
This manual will be distributed so that public officials from relevant departments of the province and disaster departments of cities and counties can quickly take response actions at disaster sites according to the type of social disaster.
