Tmon's Domestic Travel Sales in Q1 Surpass Pre-COVID Levels
Jeju Travel Special Event Underway
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] TMON announced on the 20th that its domestic travel performance in the first quarter exceeded the same period in 2019, before COVID-19, by 5%. In particular, sales for Jeju travel increased by 22% compared to before the pandemic. With the government's full lifting of social distancing measures, domestic travel demand appears to be fully recovering.
TMON explained that the recovery is accelerating due to travel sentiment to fully enjoy the spring season starting this month and expectations for the complete lifting of distancing measures. Since the launch of the "Korea Accommodation Grand Sale," supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization to invigorate regional tourism and the domestic market from the 7th, TMON's domestic travel sales during the 11-day period surged by 105% compared to the same period last month.
Accordingly, TMON is conducting various promotions to further expand travelers' demand. In line with spring travel demand, the "Jeju Travel All-in TMON" special exhibition is also ongoing throughout April.

Kim Hak-jong, Head of TMON Tour Business Division, said, "Although overseas travel has resumed, the recovery rate of international flights is still slow, and concerns about local infections remain, so domestic travel preference appears to be high for now."
