Taeyoung Construction to Suspend Operations for 3 Months Starting End of This Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] Taeyoung Construction's business operations will be suspended for three months starting at the end of this month.
On the 19th, according to Taeyoung Construction, the company decided not to appeal further in court against the three-month administrative sanction imposed by Gyeonggi Province related to the fatal accident at a new construction site in Gimpo-si in 2017, and to accept the sanction.
Taeyoung Construction had previously received a three-month business suspension order from Gyeonggi Province in September 2020 regarding the incident in December 2017 at a new construction site in Unyang-dong, Gimpo-si, where two subcontractor workers died of suffocation. At that time, Taeyoung Construction filed a lawsuit to cancel the business suspension order, but lost in the first trial last month. Accordingly, business operations will be suspended starting from the 25th.
