Gwangju Dong-gu, Dream Start Families Operate 'Our Family Weekend Farm'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it will provide and operate the 'Family Weekend Farm' free of charge for 10 Dream Start households until November.
The 'Family Weekend Farm' was prepared to offer an opportunity for natural learning by getting closer to nature through a farm experience where families temporarily leave the city and plant and cultivate vegetables together in a garden.
The weekend farm is a program operated for the second year this year following last year, and it is being promoted by leasing part of the 'Dong-gu Urban Agriculture Complex Experience Garden' located at 184 Naenam-dong, established by the Dong-gu Office.
The leasing method involves selecting 10 households by lottery from applicants, assigning a 6?7㎡ plot to each, where they can freely cultivate crops such as lettuce, chili peppers, and eggplants, and take home the harvest.
