Bank of Korea Gwangju Jeonnam Headquarters, Seminar Inviting External Experts
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju-Jeonnam branch of the Bank of Korea held a seminar inviting external experts to explore ways to develop local communities through the revitalization of the social economy.
At the seminar held on the 14th, Professor Emeritus Kim Il-tae, Research Chair Professor at Chonnam National University, gave a presentation on the theme of "Revitalization of the Social Economy and Urban Regeneration" and exchanged opinions with the attendees.
Professor Kim presented sociality, business viability, and innovativeness as success factors of the social economy, emphasizing the need to build an ecosystem for revitalizing the social economy by referring to innovative cases of urban and regional regeneration both domestically and internationally.
As concrete measures for this, he cited the discovery of tangible and intangible local cultural heritage and other regional resources, securing related budgets, and nurturing talent.
