Yeonggwang-gun Supports COVID-19 Protective Supplies for Public Transportation Workers

[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do recently announced on the 19th that it has provided quarantine supplies to Yeonggwang Transportation, the Yeonggwang branch of the Private Taxi Association, and corporate taxi companies to prevent infections among public transportation users and public transportation workers amid the recent increase in local COVID-19 spread.

This support of quarantine supplies is a measure considering the working environment of public transportation workers and infection prevention for public transportation users, providing a total of 1,544 rapid antigen test kits and 160 disinfectants to 10 business sites.

Earlier, in January, the county supported Yeonggwang Transportation, the Yeonggwang branch of the Private Taxi Association, and corporate taxi companies with 1,810 masks, 91 disinfectants, and 159 hand sanitizers to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The county plans to continuously monitor quarantine management activities in public transportation and support necessary matters, while focusing its capabilities to alleviate residents' anxiety and block the spread of COVID-19 within the jurisdiction.

A county official said, “Preventing COVID-19 infections in the public transportation industry will lead to protection for public transportation users,” and added, “We appreciate the taxi and bus industries that silently perform the role of transportation for residents despite the difficulties of declining profits caused by COVID-19.”
