Gyeongnam Police Agency to Crack Down More Strictly on Drunk Driving
Full Lifting of Social Distancing Expected to Increase Gatherings and Drinking Parties
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency will strengthen drunk driving crackdowns starting from the 18th in line with the full lifting of social distancing measures.
The Gyeongnam police stated that with the lifting of social distancing, various gatherings and drinking occasions are increasing, and they anticipate a rise in drunk driving. To protect the lives of residents and encourage safe driving, they will intensify drunk driving enforcement.
They plan to enhance drunk driving crackdowns conducted about once every two weeks across the province and strengthen enforcement by each police station.
Considering the increased rate of drunk driving due to more outdoor activities in spring, crackdowns will also be conducted around recreational areas and restaurants.
