Jeonju City Imposes Up to 1 Million Won Fine for Illegal Garbage Dumping
Intensive Crackdown on Illegal Dumping of Covers in Vulnerable Areas Until the End of June
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 19th that it will impose fines of up to 1 million won on those who illegally dump garbage to create a pleasant urban environment.
Jeonju City plans to conduct a "special intensive crackdown on illegal garbage dumping" focusing on vulnerable cleaning areas until the end of June.
This measure comes in response to the sharp increase in illegal dumping of household waste due to the rise in food delivery and parcel orders.
The crackdown team plans to strengthen enforcement by identifying illegal dumpers using bills and receipts found in garbage piles and impose fines of up to 1 million won.
Jeonju City will strengthen enforcement through vehicles and surveillance cameras (CCTV) and also focus on educational activities.
