Bio Field Experience and Pharmacy Graduate School Course
Political Sensibility Including Experience as Saenuri Party Member of the National Assembly
Former National Assembly member Kim Sang-min, appointed as a standing advisor to the Presidential Transition Committee, expressed his determination to "play a role in creating open policies in the healthcare and bio industries."
In a phone interview with Asia Economy on the 19th, Kim pointed out that "despite environmental changes such as aging and COVID-19 that require medical support, policies and national support to back these up are insufficient," adding, "I will advise to move policies away from regulation-centered approaches toward directions beneficial to these industries." He explained that as people's interest in health grows and digitalization progresses rapidly, easy and efficient services are needed in the medical and bio fields.
Since 2018, he has served as vice chairman of Irom, a life care specialized company, gaining field experience by interacting with bio companies and workers. This experience sparked his interest in pharmacy, leading him to pursue a master's degree in pharmacy at Ajou University Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Clinical Sciences.

He is also recognized for his political acumen gained through legislative experience. Kim entered politics in 2012 as a proportional representative of the Saenuri Party, engaging in political activities alongside lawmakers Nam Kyung-pil and Won Hee-ryong. He devoted efforts to preparing policies and bills related to finance, including fintech, in the National Assembly's Political Affairs Committee. Later, he switched to the Bareun Party, serving as head of the Strategic Public Relations Headquarters and acting secretary-general. He also played an active role as the special youth committee chairman in the 18th Presidential Transition Committee. He stated, "Since I have an understanding of both policy and the healthcare and bio industries, I will strive to reflect this in the national tasks the transition committee is preparing."
