Gyeonggi-do Resumes 'Part-Time Childcare Program' After 2 Years
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is resuming the 'Hourly Childcare Service' that was suspended due to COVID-19.
The Hourly Childcare Service is a program that supports parents raising infants aged 6 to 36 months at home while receiving childcare allowances, allowing them to use childcare facilities such as childcare support centers or daycare centers on an hourly basis from 1 hour up to 80 hours per month without using a childcare institution.
Since its initial launch in 2014, demand has steadily increased, and the program is currently operated in cooperation with 91 childcare classes in 26 cities and counties within the province.
However, the service was fully suspended in February 2020 due to COVID-19, partially resumed in some cities and counties from November last year, and recently all 91 classes have resumed normal operations.
