Seven Eleven Launches 5 New 'Grain Great' Products Made with Plant-Based Ingredients
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Convenience store Seven Eleven is launching five new products under the ‘Grain Great’ brand, which utilizes plant-based raw materials.
According to the industry on the 19th, Seven Eleven plans to target consumers pursuing healthy eating habits as the season for lighter clothing arrives by releasing new products using plant-based raw materials and aiming to capture the corresponding demand.
The newly introduced products include five items: ‘Grain Chinese-style Rice Bowl & Dumplings (4,900 KRW)’, ‘Grain Mayo Yubu Sushi (4,200 KRW)’, ‘Grain Mayo Triangle (1,200 KRW)’, ‘Grain Jeonju Bibim Triangle (1,200 KRW)’, and ‘Grain Bolognese Burger (3,500 KRW)’. These products emphasize a light and clean taste with plant-based ingredients as the main components.
‘Grain Chinese-style Rice Bowl & Dumplings’ features a Chinese-style flavor made by stir-frying chili oil, Doubanjiang sauce, tofu, and plant-based meat. It is generously served with two pieces of ‘Organica Bright Valley Plant Wang Gyoza’, which contain 0mg cholesterol and trans fat. ‘Grain Mayo Yubu Sushi’ and ‘Grain Mayo Triangle’ mix plant-based tuna made primarily from soy protein with crunchy pickled radish to enhance the chewing texture. In particular, the Yubu Sushi uses thick fried tofu skin to maximize the sweet and salty taste. The newly released ‘Grain Jeonju Bibim Triangle’ is topped with spicy soybean bulgogi gochujang stir-fry inside a Jeonju bibimbap without animal ingredients, while the ‘Grain Bolognese Burger’ features a chewy patty made from wheat protein paired with a rich and spicy Bolognese sauce.
Seven Eleven has been steadily introducing plant-based raw material products every year since 2019, in line with the increase in the vegetarian population and growth of related industries. Last year, the company launched the ‘Grain Great’ brand and officially entered this business, researching and developing various products that offer a delicious meal even without meat.
