Professors Who Gave Perfect Scores on Jeong Ho-young's Daughter's Oral Exam Co-authored 35 Papers
[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] It has been reported that among the professors who gave full marks during the oral evaluation of Jeong Mo, the daughter of Jeong Ho-young, the nominee for Minister of Health and Welfare, in the transfer exam to Kyungpook National University College of Medicine, two professors co-authored 35 papers with the nominee until recently.
According to Rep. Shin Hyun-young of the Democratic Party on the 18th, during the 2017 academic year transfer exam to Kyungpook National University College of Medicine, out of the nine oral evaluation committee members, three professors gave Jeong’s daughter a perfect score of 20 points each in the same examination room. Among these three, Professor A co-authored 11 papers with nominee Jeong from 2006 to 2018, published in the Journal of the Korean Surgical Society and overseas academic journals.
Another Professor B co-authored a total of 24 papers with nominee Jeong from 2005 to 2019. This professor also participated as a document screening evaluator in the following year’s transfer exam for Jeong’s son at Kyungpook National University College of Medicine, awarding him 29 points out of 30. In 2016, when Jeong’s daughter took the medical school transfer exam, Professor B co-authored two papers with nominee Jeong, and in 2017, when the son took the exam, they co-authored three papers. The remaining professor did not appear as a co-author but was serving as the vice dean of Kyungpook National University College of Medicine at the time of the 2017 transfer exam in 2016.
Professor C, who gave Jeong’s son a near-perfect score of 19 out of 20 in the 2018 Kyungpook National University College of Medicine transfer exam, is also known to have co-authored 14 papers with nominee Jeong from 2009 to 2019. The 19 points were the highest score Jeong’s son received from the nine evaluators. In 2016, when Jeong’s children took the exams, Professor C co-authored two papers with nominee Jeong, and in 2017, three papers.
The total number of papers co-authored by Professors A and B, who gave full marks to the daughter, Professor C, who gave 19 points to the son, and nominee Jeong was five. These include one paper published in a Japanese cancer-related journal in 2009, one stomach cancer-related paper published in the Journal of the Korean Surgical Society in May 2012, and papers published in overseas academic journals in November of the same year, June 2014, and 2018. Most of these papers focus on stomach cancer or cancer treatment methods. Professors A and B are affiliated with Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital, and Professor C is in charge of oncology at Kyungpook National University Hospital. They have closely collaborated with nominee Jeong, who has been active in the field of stomach cancer, as co-authors until recently.
