On that day, Acting Governor Oh met with Yeonhwajang employees and said, "The intensive operation period of the crematorium, which was scheduled until April 15, has been extended by two weeks, raising concerns about the facility's overload and the overwork of the staff. Although it is a difficult situation, please do your best until the end for the bereaved families."
Earlier, Gyeonggi Province provided disaster management funds of 100 million won each to four locations, including Suwon Yeonhwajang, to improve the cremation capacity of the facilities and boost the morale of the workers. The facilities plan to use the funds for increased labor costs of the staff and other expenses.

Meanwhile, Suwon Yeonhwajang is a memorial facility located in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon City, managed by Suwon Urban Corporation. It opened in January 2001 and is equipped with 9 cremators, 53,936 columbarium niches, 4,235 columbarium walls, and 6,000 natural burial sites. With the extension of the intensive operation period to April 30 to enhance cremation capacity, Yeonhwajang is operating 56 cremations per day in accordance with government policy.
