Introduction of 'Ulsan Bookstore Certification'... Priority for Public Institutions and Libraries in Book Purchases
Ulsan City, 'Local Bookstore Certification Program' Application from April 20 to May 20
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Are you familiar with the bookstore certification system? When public institutions or school libraries purchase books, local governments encourage them to buy from these certified bookstores.
Ulsan City has decided to introduce and implement the "Ulsan City Local Bookstore Certification System" as a catalyst measure to revive small local bookstores facing extinction due to the expansion of the online market and the activation of e-books.
The local bookstore certification system certifies retail bookstores that have been operating a physical store in Ulsan City for more than one year and meet the certification standards set by the city as "Ulsan City Local Bookstores" and issues certification certificates.
Ulsan City plans to encourage public libraries and school libraries to purchase books through "certified bookstores."
The certification is valid for two years from the date of certification and can be renewed after a review at the end of the two years.
The application period is from the 20th of this month to May 20th. The verification of certified bookstores and issuance of certificates is scheduled for June 30th.
To apply, download the application form from the Ulsan City website, fill it out, and submit it via email, visit, or mail.
