Coupang Opens 3rd Healthcare Center in Daegu... "Preventing Musculoskeletal Disorders for Coupang Friends"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Coupang announced on the 18th that it will open its third Healthcare Center in Daegu to promote employee health. At the Coupang Healthcare Center, health promotion programs are operated to prevent musculoskeletal disorders and injuries among delivery workers known as Coupang Friends.
Last year, Coupang Healthcare Centers opened their first and second branches in Gimpo and Gangnam, respectively, and operate by selecting regions where 3 to 4 camps are gathered, considering employee accessibility. The opening of the Daegu branch was decided based on the health improvement effects and satisfaction shown by employees in previous locations, and additional openings are planned for the second half of this year.
At the Coupang Healthcare Center, a team of professional professors uses an ergonomic approach to identify the postures and movements during work that cause individual pain, and provides personalized exercise programs to address these issues. The exercise program is conducted twice a week for about 30 minutes per session over 8 weeks, led by trainers licensed as physical therapists. 98% of employees who participated in the program responded that it helped prevent musculoskeletal disorders.
Meanwhile, Coupang also operates a health promotion program called 'Coupang Care.' Coupang delivery and logistics center employees with relatively high health indicators such as blood pressure or blood sugar can focus solely on health management through Coupang Care by pausing work and receiving consultations and solutions from experts.
