CJ ENM Launches Sports Specialty Channel tvN SPORTS
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] CJ ENM announced on the 18th that it will officially enter the sports broadcasting market by launching a sports specialty channel, 'tvN SPORTS,' in May.
CJ ENM stated, "As part of expanding content investment, we have completed preparations to secure domestic and international sports broadcasting rights and to establish a differentiated broadcasting system," and announced that the first broadcast will begin on the 20th of next month.
At the 'Vision Stream' event held in May last year, CJ ENM declared that it would invest 5 trillion KRW in content by 2025.
tvN SPORTS will broadcast not only the sports for which CJ ENM already holds broadcasting rights, including ▲ AFC U-23 Asian Cup (to be held on 6/1) ▲ AFC Champions League ▲ Bundesliga soccer ▲ major tennis tournaments, but also newly added ▲ UFC ▲ FINA World Swimming Championships ▲ Top Rank World Boxing ▲ domestic professional sports.
Sports Director Koo Gyo-eun said, "tvN SPORTS will be a premium sports channel for viewers who enjoy sports, delivering the thrilling, unscripted joy that only sports can provide across generations and nationalities through high-quality broadcasts."
