Hana Bank "Free Insurance Support for IRP Recipients to Prevent Voice Phishing"
Up to 10 Million KRW Limit, Compensation Covering Up to 70% of Damages
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Hana Bank will provide free insurance that compensates for damages caused by cyber financial crimes such as voice phishing to customers who have started receiving their Individual Retirement Pension (IRP).
Hana Bank announced on the 18th that it will implement this "Cyber Financial Crime Compensation Insurance Free Support Service." This initiative aims to protect the financial assets of elderly pension recipients who are relatively vulnerable to cyber financial crimes, amid the recent continuous increase in pension recipients.
This service targets customers who hold a "Hana Bank Individual IRP" and have applied to start receiving their pension. Applications can be made through the Hana Bank application "Hana OneQ."
The free insurance service provided is Hana Insurance's "Hana Cyber Financial Crime Compensation Insurance," with a coverage period of one year. It compensates up to 70% of the actual damage amount within a maximum limit of 10 million KRW.
