"Establishing Standards for Disclosure of Environmental Financial Information"… KB Financial Joins Global Organization
Joining TNFD Launched by UN and WWF
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] KB Financial Group has joined a global organization that establishes disclosure standards for companies related to the protection and restoration of natural ecosystems.
KB Financial Group announced on the 17th that it joined the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) on the 15th.
TNFD is an organization launched to recognize that corporate activities can impact biodiversity loss and ecosystem destruction and to protect nature accordingly. Initiated by the United Nations (UN) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in June last year, it currently includes over 350 global companies such as Citi, BNP Paribas, and BlackRock.
Through this membership, KB Financial plans to participate in developing financial disclosure standards related to nature. Additionally, it aims to spread awareness of nature conservation among domestic companies and carry out various social activities for biodiversity preservation.
