Seoul City Hosts Cultural Outing at Ttukseom Jabeolle 'Seoul Saenggak Maru' on 3rd Anniversary of Opening
From the 19th, Planned Exhibitions and Play Spaces Unveiled at Ttukseom Seoul Saenggakmaru
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government's Hangang Project Headquarters announced on the 18th that it will present special programs that everyone can enjoy together starting from the 19th at 'Seoul Saenggak Maru' in Ttukseom Hangang Park, which is celebrating its 3rd anniversary this year.
The 3rd anniversary special programs available at Seoul Saenggak Maru consist of a planned exhibition titled 'The Hangang of Yesterday and Today' and an experiential space called 'Maru Playground.'
'The Hangang of Yesterday and Today' is an exhibition that looks back on the changes of Hangang, Seoul's representative leisure space, through photos and videos from the 1940s to the 2020s. It was planned to re-examine the value and importance of Hangang and provide an opportunity to reflect on what it means to us today.
Maru Playground is a play space where both adults and children can enjoy four types of traditional floor games derived from folk games, including Sabangchigi (a Korean hopscotch game), Hangang-themed rock-paper-scissors, and others. Additionally, at Seoul Saenggak Maru, visitors can use a space free of charge for reading or personal work while overlooking the Hangang. However, the third floor is an office space and can be used for a fee through prior reservation.
Seoul Saenggak Maru operates from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. every Tuesday through Sunday and is directly connected via Exit 3 of Ttukseom Yuwon Station on Line 7. It is regularly closed every Monday as well as on New Year's Day, Lunar New Year, and Chuseok holidays.
