According to Seoul and other local governments, the number of new cases nationwide across 17 cities and provinces decreased by 10,856 from 88,903 at the same time the previous day. Compared to 120,214 cases a week ago, it dropped by 52,167. This is the first time in eight weeks since February 19 that the number of new cases recorded by 6 p.m. on a Saturday has fallen below 100,000.
In the metropolitan area, 35,369 cases (45.3%) were reported, while 42,678 cases (54.7%) were reported in non-metropolitan areas.
