Police Investigate Drowsy Driving and Drunk Driving Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] In the early morning of the 16th, a 25-ton truck overturned the central guardrail and collided with vehicles on the opposite side on Olympic-daero in Yanghwa-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, resulting in one death and three injuries.
The Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced that around 6 a.m. that day, a 25-ton truck traveling toward Gimpo on Olympic-daero crossed the central guardrail and struck a 1-ton Bongo and a Carnival traveling in the opposite direction toward Songpa.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the 1-ton Bongo received emergency treatment and was transported to the hospital but died. The passenger also sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The drivers of the 25-ton truck and the Carnival were also lightly injured and transported to a nearby hospital.
