Asiana Airlines Announces Executive Personnel Changes... Four Senior Managers Promoted to Executive Director
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Asiana Airlines announced on the 15th that it has carried out an executive promotion involving a total of 12 people, including 4 promotions to Executive Vice President and 8 new appointments as acting executives, effective from the 18th.
Asiana Airlines promoted Doo Seong-guk to Executive Vice President as the new Head of the Passenger Division, and Won Yoo-seok to Executive Vice President as the new Head of the Cargo Division. The existing Head of Maintenance Division, Ryu Jae-hoon, was promoted to Executive Vice President, while Jin Gwang-ho, Executive Vice President in charge of Safety and Security, was appointed as Head of the Safety and Security Office. Jo Young-seok, Managing Director, was appointed as Head of the Management Division.
This executive personnel move also included appointments of executives in Asiana Airlines’ subsidiaries.
Oh Kyung-soo, Managing Director and Head of the Passenger Division at Asiana Airlines, moved to become Managing Director at Asiana Sabre. Additionally, two acting executives were appointed at Asiana IDT, one at Air Busan, and two at Asiana Airport.

Regarding this personnel move, Asiana Airlines explained, "This is a follow-up personnel appointment due to the retirement of 12 executives including subsidiaries, and we appointed the Head of Safety and Security Office to prioritize the company’s top value of safety," adding, "This appointment aims to enhance the corporate value of the company ahead of the business combination."
