The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency held an inauguration ceremony for the Innovation Committee at 2 p.m. on the 15th at the L'Escape Hotel in Seoul to review the overall domestic industrial health system and proactively respond to the rapidly changing future health environment.
The Innovation Committee, led by domestic industrial health experts from labor, management, and academia, will develop an innovative strategy for occupational disease prevention over four months until July.
The Innovation Committee operates through three subcommittees: the Industrial Health System Subcommittee, the Work Environment Improvement Subcommittee, and the Worker Health Management Subcommittee.
The Industrial Health System Subcommittee will review the types of occupational disease occurrences and explore ways to establish a health management system at workplaces to prevent future occupational diseases.
The Work Environment Improvement Subcommittee will discuss measures for preventing acute poisoning linked to the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and practical work environment improvement plans applicable on-site.
The Worker Health Management Subcommittee will identify issues in the current health management system and discuss workplace worker health management and the establishment of an autonomous health management system.
The outcomes produced by the Innovation Committee are expected to be reflected in the agency's projects and applied on-site, directly impacting the creation of safe work environments and securing workers' health rights.
