Namwon-si, Application for 'Basic Public Interest Direct Payment' Open Until the 31st of Next Month
[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Jeonbuk Namwon City announced on the 15th that it will accept in-person applications for the 2022 Basic Public Interest Direct Payment until the 31st of next month.
The eligible applicants are farmers registered in the Agricultural Management Information system who have previously received rice, field, or disadvantaged condition direct payments at least once between 2016 and 2019, or those who have received the basic direct payment.
Additionally, new applicants must have engaged in farming on payment-eligible farmland of at least 0.1 hectares for at least one year during the three years prior to the registration application year, or have an annual sales amount of harvested agricultural products of 1.2 million KRW or more.
The eligible farmland refers to farmland that has received rice, field, or disadvantaged condition direct payments at least once during the three years from 2017 to 2019.
The Basic Public Interest Direct Payment project is promoted to enhance the public functions of agriculture and rural areas and to stabilize income for farmers, and it is divided into small-scale direct payments and area-based direct payments.
The small-scale direct payment, which provides a fixed amount of 1.2 million KRW per farm unit, applies to farms with an application area of 5,000㎡ or less and evaluates compliance with eight conditions including farmland requirements and rural residence period.
For other farmers, the area-based direct payment is paid on a regressive unit price basis, classified by area size, promotion/non-promotion regions, and paddy/field, based on the total area of eligible farmland.
In-person applications for direct payments can be made at the administrative welfare centers of the eup, myeon, or dong where the farmland is located. If the farmland is located in multiple places, the application should be submitted to the eup, myeon, or dong administrative welfare center of the location with the largest area.
