Hyundai Engineering & Construction announced on the 15th that on the 14th, the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for eco-friendly ESG management at Hyundai's headquarters in Gyedong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Under this agreement, both companies will actively collaborate on the development of construction materials and designs using recycled cosmetic container materials. First, they will manufacture construction terrazzo tiles by mixing crushed plastic containers with ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) and apply them to apartment complex sites. The upcycled terrazzo tiles, which have excellent strength and durability, allow for various colors and design expressions. Specifically, they will be actively used in landscaping facilities. The planned application sites include Hillstate Suji-gu Office Station, Hillstate Prugio Suwon, and Hillstate Pohang.

Among various attempts to reduce and recycle plastic waste, Amorepacific operates the industry's first beauty upcycling program that collects and recycles plastic containers generated after cosmetic use.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction has been dedicated to sustainable ESG management, having been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) World Index for 12 consecutive years, selected nine times as the industry leader in the global construction sector, and inducted into the "Hall of Fame" for four consecutive years in the environmental management evaluation by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Korea Committee.
