Noroo Paint, Korea's First Recycled Paint for End-of-Life Vehicles Developed
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Noroo Paint announced on the 15th that it has developed the first recycled paint in Korea using windshield glass from end-of-life vehicles.
Noroo Paint has launched an eco-friendly architectural water-based recycled paint called 'Soon&Su Eco Respect.' This paint applies a binder recycled from the laminated film of end-of-life vehicle windshields to the acrylic emulsion, a paint component. Until now, the laminated film from vehicle windshields was difficult to reuse and mostly classified as waste, but Noroo Paint's recycled paint has opened a new path for recycling it.
Soon&Su Eco Respect achieves 1.5 to 1.7 times greater carbon reduction compared to conventional paints. Based on 18 liters of paint, it recycles the laminated film from 1.27 end-of-life vehicles and offers various functionalities such as stain resistance, antibacterial properties, and antifungal effects. It can be applied to indoor concrete, mortar, and gypsum board, making it ideal for walls in government offices, child care facilities, and other places requiring eco-friendly paint coatings.
