Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Presents Easter Chocolate Collection
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Sofitel Ambassador Seoul announced on the 14th that it will present a collection of 8 types of chocolates to celebrate Easter, one of the largest holidays in France. The chocolates will be sold at the hotel's 6th-floor cafe, 'Jardin d'Hiver,' until the 24th.
The hotel explained, "Although Easter is known as a Christian holiday, in France, it marks the beginning of students' spring break, and the Monday following Easter is designated as a public holiday, making it a holiday period recognized by both adults and children." They added, "During the Easter holiday, people often take short trips nearby, and children spend time playing treasure hunts to find various sizes of eggs or egg-shaped chocolates hidden by adults." For this reason, in France, the Easter period is the time of year with the highest chocolate consumption, even more than Valentine's Day or Christmas.
Reflecting French local culture, Sofitel Ambassador Seoul offers small egg-shaped chocolates called 'Petit Eggs' as well as chicken and rabbit-shaped chocolates to provide diverse experiences to domestic customers. The hotel has a resident professional chocolatier who handcrafts all the chocolates sold here, including the Easter chocolate collection, using the French chocolate ingredient Valrhona.
