Kwon Seong-dong, the floor leader of the People Power Party and a member of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, held an emergency press conference on the same day and said, "We are a minority and the opposition in the National Assembly. Everyone should know that the overwhelming majority Democratic Party is pushing through a bad law not for the people but for their own interests." He added, "Many lawmakers have decided to engage in a public opinion battle through the media." He continued, "If the Democratic Party forcibly passes the bill later, we will make every effort to block it, including a filibuster."
Regarding Prosecutor General Kim Oh-soo's request for help from the National Assembly, he said, "Prosecutor General Kim proposed to visit me, but it seems the Democratic Party floor leader refused." He added, "It was awkward to visit only one side, so an indefinite postponement was requested."
